‘Kosher Web’ at Beth Israel Wed. night
The final presentation of the continuing “Keeping Kosher” education series between Reform Congregation Gates of Prayer and Orthodox Congregation Beth Israel – “Kosher Web” – will take place this Wednesday night, October 23, at 7:30 p.m. at Congregation Beth Israel, 4004 West Esplanade Avenue in Metairie.
“Kosher Web” and will focus on the Internet and the many opportunities and challenges in getting information from the various websites.
Speakers will be Tulane University professor Yehuda Halper, who will speak on a website he constructed, Betty Lazarus on educational opportunities and Crescent City Jewish News editor Alan Smason. Lazarus will replace Community Day School librarian Debbie Schlackman, who was originally scheduled to take part in the panel.
Smason is expected to show attendees the working parts of the CCJN and many of its online features as well as other Internet sources for information.
Swarthmore Hillel declares itself ‘open’ in violation of International Hillel policies
