Author Dr. David Weill to speak at JCC tonight; RSVP required
Dr. David Weill, the author of “Exhale,” a best-selling non-fiction autobiographical work, will be the guest speaker tonight at the Jewish Community Center at 7:00 p.m

The former director of the Center for Advanced Lung Disease and the Lung Transplant Program at Stanford. Dr. Weill now calls New Orleans home and will appear tonight as part of the Cathy and Morris Bart Jewish Cultural Art Series. The event is free, but RSVPs are required by 5:00 p.m. today. “Exhale” is Weill’s account of his life as a top transplant doctor faced with decisions of life and death on a continual basis. The examination of his life and those affected by his decisions is at the heart of the book.
Dr. Weill presently heads the Weill Consulting Group, which focuses on improving the delivery of transplant care.
The doctor will be joined by Congregation Beth Israel’s Rabbi Josh Pernick for a discussion regarding the practice of organ transplant with consideration from both the medical and Jewish perspectives.
Tom Lowenburg will be on hand from Octavia Books to supply interested attendees with copies for sale of “Exhale.” The retail cost of the book is $27.00 plus tax.
