{"id":12491,"date":"2014-02-14T16:46:09","date_gmt":"2014-02-14T22:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/?p=12491"},"modified":"2014-02-14T16:46:09","modified_gmt":"2014-02-14T22:46:09","slug":"facebook-page-implores-rolling-stones-to-boycott-israel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/blog\/facebook-page-implores-rolling-stones-to-boycott-israel\/","title":{"rendered":"Facebook page implores Rolling Stones to boycott Israel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>JERUSALEM (JTA) &#8212; A new Facebook page called on the Rolling Stones to boycott Israel.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Rolling Stones: Boycott Israel&#8221; page established Wednesday had 144 likes by Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, reports in the Israeli media said the Rolling Stones were near a deal to play in Israel for the first time, on June 10 at the Ramat Gan Stadium near Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook page cited Israel&#8217;s &#8220;crimes against humanity&#8221; in imploring the famed British band to boycott the country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Comrades! There has been no official announcement from The Rolling Stones about playing in the Zionist Apartheid Region,&#8221; the first status on the page reads. &#8220;We are in touch with the management and sending them material that they have never examined before.
