Shia LeBeouf, the actor who was associated with the “Transformers” movie franchise and who is featured in the recent movie “Fury,” says he has converted to Christianity.<\/p>\n

LeBeouf credits “Fury” director David Ayer and co-star Brad Pitt with assisting him with his conversion, which occurred when he played a devout Christian soldier in the World War II-set film.<\/p>\n

LeBoeuf’s jewelry maker mother is Jewish, but his father is Christian and of Cajun heritage. He did become a Bar Mitzvah, but also claimed he was baptized previously. In the past, though, LeBeouf had stated he was comfortable with his practice of Judaism, in which he said he had established a personal relationship with God.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old actor, who started his career as a Disney Channel regular (“Even Stevens”), was also also seen as the son of Indiana Jones in the fourth installment of that film franchise, “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” <\/p>\n

He has had numerous run-ins with paparazzi as well as a July arrest at a New York cabaret, where he was taken into custody by New York police after becoming abusive to the onstage performers and refusing to leave. He was charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. <\/p>\n
