{"id":20521,"date":"2014-12-11T20:28:03","date_gmt":"2014-12-12T02:28:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/?p=20521"},"modified":"2014-12-11T20:28:03","modified_gmt":"2014-12-12T02:28:03","slug":"joan-rivers-remembers-jewish-groups-in-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/blog\/joan-rivers-remembers-jewish-groups-in-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Joan Rivers remembers Jewish groups in will"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\">(JTA) &#8212; Joan Rivers in her will left money to several Jewish charitable organizations to which she was connected.<\/span><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Among the Jewish organizations that received bequests from the late comedian&#8217;s estimated $150 million estate were the Jewish Guild for the Blind, the Jewish Home and Hospital Foundation and the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles.<\/span><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><span style=\"color: #222222;\">The amounts were unknown because the donations come from a confidential trust, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday, citing papers filed in Manhattan Surrogate&#8217;s Court.<\/span><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Rivers&#8217; daughter, Melissa, the will&#8217;s executor, received all of her mother&#8217;s personal property.<\/span><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Rivers reportedly bequested her four dogs to her assistant, Jocelyn Pickett.<\/span><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Rivers died in September at 81 a week after being rushed to Manhattan\u2019s Mount Sinai Hospital after her heart stopped during throat surgery at a clinic.
