{"id":20938,"date":"2014-12-23T08:17:04","date_gmt":"2014-12-23T14:17:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/?p=20938"},"modified":"2014-12-23T08:17:04","modified_gmt":"2014-12-23T14:17:04","slug":"theater-j-directors-firing-denounced-in-open-letter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/blog\/theater-j-directors-firing-denounced-in-open-letter\/","title":{"rendered":"Theater J director&#8217;s firing denounced in open letter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\">(JTA) \u2014 Sixty-one artistic directors of U.S. theater companies denounced the DC Jewish Community Center\u2019s firing of Ari Roth, the artistic director of its Theater J who staged numerous works critical of Israel.<\/span><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><br style=\"color: #222222;\" \/><span style=\"color: #222222;\">An open letter issued Monday said \u201cit is absolutely clear that Roth was fired because of the content of the work he has so thoughtfully and ably championed for the last two decades,\u201d the Washington Post reported.
