JEAN DRESNER SPIZER, a housewife and mother, died peacefully at her home on August 1, 2016. She was 93 years old.<\/p>\n

A lifelong resident of New Orleans. Spizer attended Newcomb College and graduated from the Loyola University College of Music with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education.<\/div>\n

During World War II, she worked in a daycare center supervising the children of women working in the war effort. A longtime member of Temple Sinai, she served as a member of the board of the New Orleans section of the National Council of Jewish Women, the Brandeis University Women’s Auxiliary, the Hotel Dieu Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, the Women’s Auxiliary of the Orleans Parish Medical Society and the Lake Vista Garden Club.<\/div>\n

Spizer was preceded in death in 2006 by her husband of many years, Dr. David Spizer. \u00a0She is survived by her three children, Dale Spizer Aronson, Jan Spizer Seltzer and David Bruce Spizer, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.<\/div>\n

Funeral Services conducted by Rabbi Matthew Reimer were held in the Feibelman Chapel of Temple Sinai, 6227 St. Charles Avenue on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. Interment followed in Hebrew Rest Cemetery #3, 2003 Pelopidas Street.<\/div>\n
