Locally,\u00a0 Chabad Lubavitch of Louisiana<\/a>, Congregation Beth Israel<\/a>\u00a0 are collecting for Hurricane Sandy relief online. They are advancing funds they collect to specific organizations and religious institutions with whom they have personally been in touch. Chabad, for example,\u00a0 is said to have lost 30 Chabad\u00a0 Houses due to the destruction in NY and NJ.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Temple Sinai its running its relief efforts through the Union for Reform Judaism site<\/span><\/a>. there are several different national organizations collecting for Hurricane Sandy relief. They are:<\/p>\n

Aside from their online link<\/a>, the UNION FOR REFORM JUDAISM HURRICANE RELIEF FUND:\u00a0 will be accepting funds at: Hurricane Relief Fund, Union for Reform Judaism, 633 Third Ave., New York, NY 10017.<\/p>\n

Also collecting are the JEWISH FEDERATIONS OF NORTH AMERICA:\u00a0 To make a donation, go to www.JFeds.org\/SandyRelief<\/a> to make a donation or text RELIEF to 51818 from a mobile device. Send checks to The Jewish Federations of North America, Wall Street Station, PO Box 148, New York, NY 10268 and mark \u201cJFNA Hurricane Relief\u201d on the check.<\/p>\n
