{"id":36835,"date":"2017-06-08T02:33:18","date_gmt":"2017-06-08T08:33:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/?p=36835"},"modified":"2017-06-08T02:33:18","modified_gmt":"2017-06-08T08:33:18","slug":"jewish-pitcher-brad-goldberg-makes-his-white-sox-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/blog\/jewish-pitcher-brad-goldberg-makes-his-white-sox-debut\/","title":{"rendered":"Jewish pitcher Brad Goldberg makes his White Sox debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(JTA) \u2014 Relief pitcher Brad Goldberg, who is Jewish, made his Major League Baseball debut with the Chicago White Sox.<\/p>\n<p>Goldberg, 27, was called up from the minors, the Triple-A Charlotte Knights, over the weekend, after pitcher Michael Ynoa was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right hip flexor strain.<\/p>\n<p>Goldberg pitched part of the eighth inning against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday, allowing four runs on a walk and three hits.<\/p>\n<p>He was drafted by the White Sox in the 10th round of the 2013 MLB draft, after ending his college baseball career at Ohio State University in Columbus.<\/p>\n<p>Goldberg left this year\u2019s spring training with the White Sox to pitch for Team Israel in the second round of the 2017 World Baseball Classic in March.
