{"id":3731,"date":"2012-11-16T10:57:45","date_gmt":"2012-11-16T16:57:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/?p=3731"},"modified":"2012-11-17T09:20:04","modified_gmt":"2012-11-17T15:20:04","slug":"jfna-announces-5-million-in-aid-for-israeli-terror-victims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/blog\/jfna-announces-5-million-in-aid-for-israeli-terror-victims\/","title":{"rendered":"JFNA announces $5 million in aid for Israeli terror victims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(JNS.org) Responding to the onslaught of rockets hitting southern Israel from Gaza, the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) on Thursday announced the establishment of a new Israel Terror Relief Fund that will contribute up to $5 million to aid victims.<\/p>\n<p>The aid, which will be made up of both existing funds and new donations from 155 Jewish Federations, will support work of JFNA partner agencies such as The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC).<\/p>\n<p>JAFI\u2019s work to aid Israeli terror victims includes \u201cproviding a range of programs and services, including respite for the 23,500 grade-school students who live in affected areas, as well as psychological interventions for parents and children from Israel\u2019s southern region,\u201d according to a JFNA press release.
