One of the post-season players heralded for his outstanding play was third baseman Alex Bregman, the former LSU standout.<\/p>\n<p>Bregman, 23,\u00a0 who was born in Albuquerque, N.M., is the great-grandson of Russian-Jewish immigrants. As a youth, he attended Reform temple Congregation Albert, the oldest Jewish institution in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Bregman&#8217;s walk-in single in Game 5 ended the second-longest game in World Series history on Sunday night, when both teams were deadlocked 12-12 in the tenth inning.
