{"id":4969,"date":"2013-01-23T10:14:46","date_gmt":"2013-01-23T16:14:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/?p=4969"},"modified":"2013-01-27T07:48:31","modified_gmt":"2013-01-27T13:48:31","slug":"ejcs-kantor-tolerance-of-neo-nazi-golden-dawn-led-to-immigrants-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/blog\/ejcs-kantor-tolerance-of-neo-nazi-golden-dawn-led-to-immigrants-murder\/","title":{"rendered":"EJC&#8217;s Kantor: Tolerance of neo-Nazi Golden Dawn led to immigrant&#8217;s murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ATHENS, Greece (JTA) &#8212; The head of the European Jewish Congress said the \u201cracist\u201d killing of an immigrant in Athens was a result of Greece tolerating the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party. \u201cWe are witness to an increasing violence against foreigners and minorities in Greece which is the natural result of inaction by the authorities against racist and anti-Semitic hate speech and violent attacks,\u201d EJC President Moshe Kantor said in a statement issued Jan. 22.<\/p>\n<p>The victim, a Pakistani immigrant, was pulled off his motorbike and stabbed to death in downtown Athens by two men in an attack that Greek police said appeared racially motivated.<\/p>\n<p>The killing sparked large anti-racism protests in Athens over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Two suspects have been arrested.
