{"id":5044,"date":"2013-01-28T22:53:57","date_gmt":"2013-01-29T04:53:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/?p=5044"},"modified":"2013-01-28T22:53:57","modified_gmt":"2013-01-29T04:53:57","slug":"world-jewish-congress-names-robert-singer-to-top-post","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/blog\/world-jewish-congress-names-robert-singer-to-top-post\/","title":{"rendered":"World Jewish Congress names Robert Singer to top post"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(JTA) &#8212; Robert Singer was named secretary general of the World Jewish Congress, the organization&#8217;s most senior professional position.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of the WJC executives who have met Robert have been impressed with his professionalism, insight and vision, and they look forward to working with him in strengthening the WJC\u2019s position as the preeminent representative body of world Jewry,\u201d WJC President Ronald Lauder said in a statement issued Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Singer since 1999 has served as director general and CEO of World ORT, an education and vocational training nongovernmental organization. Previously he had worked in the Israeli Prime Minister\u2019s Office for 12 years.
