KANTER<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>A native New Orleanian, she was a longtime member of Congregation Beth Israel and involved as a volunteer with Beth Israel&#8217;s Sisterhood. Kanter was also a lifetime member of Hadassah.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joseph Jerome Kanter; her daughters Cathy Kanter (Morris, III) Bart, Wendy Kanter (David) Rones and Judith Kanter (Glenn Lieberman); her brother Dr. Alvin Cotlar (Dr. Ginger Rogers); and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services were held at Congregation Gates of Prayer, 4000 West Esplanade Avenue South in Metairie, on Monday, January 6 at 11:30 a.m.&nbsp; Congregation Beth Israel Rabbi Josh Pernick officiated. Interment will followed at the (Old) Beth Israel Cemetery, 4321 Frenchman St.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beth Israel, 4004 W. Esplanade Ave. S, Metairie, La. 70002. Arrangements under direction of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home.
