She began her teaching career at Plaquemine Elementary, but eventually became a highly-respected and admired teacher at Isidore Newman School for many decades.<\/p>\n<p>She was also a long-time member of Gates of Prayer Synagogue before and after their move to Metairie, a membership she maintained until her relocation. Formerly, she was also a member of Congregation Beth Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Plotkin was predeceased by her husband, George A. Plotkin, and is survived by her two sons, Mark Jay Plotkin&nbsp; (Liliana Madrigal) of Arlington, VA., and Norman Craig Plotkin (Doris Omi) of Lafayette, CA. and five grandchildren.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A memorial service is pending for an appropriate date in the future.
