Earlier this month Zahra Billoo’s boss, Nihad Awad , CAIR’s co-founder and executive director, called Tel Aviv “occupied,” which means CAIR does not accept Israel’s right to exist. <\/span><\/p>\n Gil Troy, the author of “The Zionist Ideas” and professor of history at McGill University, said that he was”deeply grateful” for Awad’s comments.<\/span><\/p>\n “Mr. Awad was being honest \u2013 unlike most of his comrades,” Troy said. “His brutal honesty \u2013 which essentially calls for a new anti-Jewish genocide 75 years after Auschwitz \u2013 exposes the lie that Palestinian extremists like him would be satisfied with any kind of compromise. It makes it clear that the hatred against Israel has to do with what Israel is \u2013 a Jewish democratic state \u2013 not what Israel does.
