{"id":6591,"date":"2013-04-15T02:16:19","date_gmt":"2013-04-15T08:16:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/?p=6591"},"modified":"2013-04-18T02:19:05","modified_gmt":"2013-04-18T08:19:05","slug":"yaakov-yosef-influential-rabbi-and-son-of-shas-spiritual-leader","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/blog\/yaakov-yosef-influential-rabbi-and-son-of-shas-spiritual-leader\/","title":{"rendered":"Yaakov Yosef, influential rabbi and son of Shas spiritual leader"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(JTA) &#8212; Tens of thousands joined the funeral procession of Rabbi Yaakov Yosef, the eldest son of the Shas party&#8217;s spiritual leader, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef.<\/p>\n<p>Yaakov Yosef died last Friday at 66, succumbing after a long battle with cancer. He was buried in Jerusalem before the start of the Sabbath.<\/p>\n<p>Yosef, the rabbi of the haredi Givat Moshe neighborhood in Jerusalem and the Hazon Yaakov Yeshiva, was an influential right-wing rabbi.
