POST PANDEMIC PASSOVER<\/h2>\n

The world has emerged from its quarantine,<\/p>\n

We can all breathe a sigh of relief.<\/p>\n

There seems to be time to start living again<\/p>\n

There is little time left for our grief.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Thanks to those who received vaccinations<\/p>\n

The number of infections is way down.<\/p>\n

The faces in hospitals are now smiling,<\/p>\n

Where before all they\u2019d wear was a frown.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So now it is time for us to assemble<\/p>\n

And gather everyone \u2018round our table.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t matter how old or young you are,<\/p>\n

You must take the time now if you\u2019re able.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We are enjoined each year to remember<\/p>\n

How we were slaves once and now we are free.<\/p>\n

We give thanks to the Lord for his favor.<\/p>\n

We are penitent and pray gratefully.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But this COVID has left us all shell-shocked<\/p>\n

We were caught at a loss, unprepared.<\/p>\n

To be perfectly frank, we were frightened<\/p>\n

And this deadly threat made us all scared.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So now we can take off our masks<\/p>\n

And again breathe deeply and free<\/p>\n

Take out the charoses and gefilte fish<\/p>\n

And the saltwater to dip our parsley.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We gather as Jews to recall freedom<\/p>\n

From slavery to redemption and beyond<\/p>\n

We consider this act happens for us today<\/p>\n

And the Exodus is a promise, a bond.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That the Lord will continue to bless us<\/p>\n

With abundance and opportunities<\/p>\n

In this land where liberty allows us<\/p>\n

To do mostly whatever we please.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But we need to remember that freedom<\/p>\n

Will often be a cause of much pain.<\/p>\n

This Passover the world reflects upon<\/p>\n

The suffering endured in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We should hope that the conflict<\/p>\n

Will end soon and that peace will finally prevail;<\/p>\n

That Zelensky will emerge from his hiding<\/p>\n

And that Putin will be sentenced to jail.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So let\u2019s say \u201cNext year in Jerusalem!\u201d<\/p>\n

And thank Pfizer, Moderna and J & J<\/p>\n

For the vaccines that have proven effective<\/p>\n

And sent COVID and Corona on their way.<\/p>\n
