Her family is understandably psyched.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"> \u201cTo think that our surname would be indelibly linked with London through the naming of a street after Amy is remarkable,\u201d said Mitch Winehouse, Amy\u2019s dad. \u201cWe\u2019re a London family through and through, and it would be a tremendous honor if we do become a literal part of the fabric of this great city. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"><strong>Beastie Boys writing memoir<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"><strong>Michael Diamond <\/strong>(Mike D.) and<strong> Adam Horovitz <\/strong>(Ad-Rock),<strong> <\/strong>the two surviving Beastie Boys, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.6nobacon.com\/2013\/04\/29\/beastie-boys-to-write-a-memoir\/\" target=\"_blank\">have signed<\/a> a deal with Spiegel &amp; Grau, an imprint of Random House, to write a book about their careers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">According to The New York Times, the Jewish rappers plan on being as out of the box in their writing as they were with their music.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"> \u201cThe first words out of Mike\u2019s mouth were, \u2018I don\u2019t want to do a straight memoir,\u2019 \u201d said Luke Janklow, the group\u2019s agent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Instead the book will be \u201ca multidimensional experience,\u201d said Julie Grau of Spiegel &amp; Grau. \u201dThere is a kaleidoscopic frame of reference, and it asks a reader to keep up.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">The book, which will be edited by hip-hop journalist Sacha Jenkins and is slated for the fall of 2015, will include images as well as passages by other writers. Per Grau and Janklow, fans can expect something similar in style to Grand Royal, the irreverent magazine put out by the Beasties in the &#8217;90s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"><strong>Adam Yauch<\/strong> (MCA), the third member of the group, died last year at age 47 of cancer of the salivary gland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jason Segel&#8217;s Jason Collins connection<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jason Collins, who made history by being the first active NBA player to come out as gay, had a very funny, very<a href=\"http:\/\/www.6nobacon.com\/2013\/04\/30\/jason-segel-played-high-school-basketball-with-jason-collins\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Jewish teammate<\/a> at Harvard-Westlake High in Southern California. That would be <strong>Jason Segel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the flurry of reporting that followed the breaking of the Collins story, <a href=\"http:\/\/extramustard.si.com\/2013\/04\/29\/this-is-what-jason-collins-and-jason-segel-looked-like-as-high-school-teammates\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sports Illustrated<\/a> dug up a 1996 \u00a0team photo in which the &#8220;How I Met Your Mother&#8221; actor is standing right by the Washington Wizards center and his twin brother, Jarron. While Segel wasn&#8217;t the Wolverines&#8217; biggest talent, he was known for his humor and theatrics. His big personality was even documented in a <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.latimes.com\/1996-03-02\/sports\/sp-42245_1_paulhino-da-costa\" target=\"_blank\">1996 Los Angeles Times story <\/a>about the squad.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;During Harvard&#8217;s two-week East Coast trip in December, Segel wowed a Florida crowd with a two-handed slam made with the front of his jersey pulled over his head,&#8221; the L.A. Times wrote. &#8220;Before the dunk, Segel stood poised, calling for silence with outstretched arms. After the dunk, he dove headfirst into the stands.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In more Segel news, The New York Times reported that he will be writing a series of books for middle schoolers for Random House.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUltimately, it\u2019s a story about learning that we can accomplish anything, as long as we are brave enough to try,\u201d Segel said of the \u201cNightmares!\u201d adventure series, which will center on a bunch of kids out to rescue their neighborhood from fear.<\/p>\n<p>Well, not quite the literary version of \u201cFreaks and Geeks\u201d we were hoping for, but still sounds interesting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gwyneth Paltrow is most beautiful woman<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hollywood\u2019s most hated celebrity is also the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.6nobacon.com\/2013\/04\/25\/gwyneth-paltrow-named-worlds-most-beautiful-woman-by-people\/\" target=\"_blank\">most beautiful<\/a> woman in the world, which when you think about it sort of makes sense.<\/p>\n<p>People tapped <strong>Gwyneth Paltrow<\/strong> \u2014 the golden-haired descendant of rabbis \u2014 as most beautiful in this month\u2019s issue. She graces the cover and inside the magazine talks about how at home she\u2019s just a regular mom and wife, and not the polarizing figure that others alternately adore and despise. Check out this New York Post headline: \u201cIs this pompous film star really the world\u2019s most beautiful woman?\u201c)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAround the house, I\u2019m in jeans and a T-shirt. I don\u2019t really wear makeup. That\u2019s what they\u2019re used to,\u201d Paltrow said of her kids, 8-year-old daughter Apple and 7-year-old son, Moses.<\/p>\n<p>What about her husband, Chris Martin? \u201cHe\u2019ll make a joke about it. If I\u2019ve gotten fully dressed up, he\u2019ll be like, \u2018Oh, wow! You\u2019re Gwyneth Paltrow!\u2019 Because he\u2019s used to seeing me in like baggy shorts and frizzy hair.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Celebrity chef Jamie Geller&#8217;s Israel show<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Can\u2019t imagine packing up your five kids and moving to a foreign country where you can barely speak the language?<\/p>\n<p>In her new online series \u201cThe Joy of Israel,\u201d kosher cook and best-selling author <strong>Jamie Geller <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.6nobacon.com\/2013\/04\/25\/celebrity-chef-jamie-geller-documents-her-first-year-in-israel\/\" target=\"_blank\">shows us<\/a> what it\u2019s like while also highlighting some of the Holy Land\u2019s sights and flavors. The webisodes are a follow-up to the \u201cJoy of Aliyah,\u201d which depicted the Geller family\u2019s initial transition to Israel.<\/p>\n<p>In the premiere, which debuted this month, the Gellers visit the Golan, where they ride chairlifts and horses. They also cook up a stew that the woman who has been called the &#8220;Kosher Rachael Ray&#8221; dubs \u201ccowboy cholent.\u201d The travel scenes are great, but equally engaging are the small moments, like when Geller can\u2019t help her 8-year-old daughter with her math homework without the help of her Google translator app.<\/p>\n<p>Geller may be new to Israel, but she\u2019s very familiar with putting together a show. She was formerly a producer and marketing executive for HBO shows such as \u201cThe Sopranos,\u201d \u201cEntourage\u201d and \u201cThe Wire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sarah Jessica Parker to star in play<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The New York Daily News reports that Blythe Danner and <strong>Sarah Jessica Parker<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.6nobacon.com\/2013\/04\/30\/sarah-jessica-parker-and-blythe-danner-to-star-in-amanda-peets-play\/\" target=\"_blank\">will play<\/a> mother and daughter in \u201cCommons of Pensacola,\u201d written by film and TV actress Amanda Peet.<\/p>\n<p>In the comedy Danner \u2013 not technically Jewish but wife of the late Bruce Paltrow, who was Jewish, and mother of Gwyneth &#8212; flees her fancy life in New York after her Wall Street husband is involved in a scandal. Things become tense when Becca, played by Parker, a member of the tribe and star of \u201cSex and the City,\u201d visits mom in her new one-bedroom Florida condo.<\/p>\n<p>New York, Wall Street, Florida, characters named Becca and Judith &#8230; it\u2019s no \u201cYentl,\u201d but Peet\u2019s first play sounds pretty Jewish to us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Second child for Ian Ziering<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ian Ziering<\/strong> of \u201cBeverly Hills, 90210\u2033 and his wife, Erin, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.6nobacon.com\/2013\/04\/30\/90210s-jewish-baby-boom\/\" target=\"_blank\">had their second child<\/a> last week. Penna Mae is two years younger to the day than big sister Mia Loren.<\/p>\n<p>Per Parents.com, the sweet yet unusual name is Latin for feather and a nickname for Pennsylvania. We can\u2019t help but wonder if Ziering, a Jewish actor and now Chippendales dancer, was at all inspired by his heritage. Perhaps Penna = Penina?<\/p>\n<p><strong>First HBO\u00a0special for Silverman<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s face it, fellow <strong>Sarah Silverman<\/strong> fans: While her Twitter feed is wildly entertaining, it\u2019s just not enough. Which is why we were thrilled to learn that in the fall, HBO will air the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.6nobacon.com\/2013\/04\/30\/sarah-silverman-gets-her-first-hbo-comedy-special\/\" target=\"_blank\">comedy special<\/a> \u201cSarah Silverman: We Are Miracles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While the comedian has an impressive, eponymous body of work, including \u201cThe Sarah Silverman program\u201d and her film \u201cSarah Silverman: Jesus is Magic,\u201d it will be her first HBO special.
