JACK HUDSON, D.D.S.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>A New Orleans native, he graduated from Georgia Military Academy in 1948 before attending Loyola University where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, graduating in 1952.<\/p>\n<p>Hudson had met his future wife, Grace n\u00e9e Debrovner, when she was a freshman at Newcomb College and by the time she was 20, they had been married and had a young daughter. Dr. Hudson served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force for two years, including one year in Korea, before returning to New Orleans to his young family. Dr. Hudson served in the Air Force Reserves until he was honorably discharged in 1972.<\/p>\n<p>The Hudsons remained in their very happy marriage for 52 years until her death in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>He served many years on the board of Congregation Gates of Prayer and had a longstanding commitment to the Jewish Federation. He was a chairman of the Dental Department at Touro Infirmary and was honored for having served 50 years on its medical staff.<\/p>\n<p>Jack lived a life full of love, passion, and honor. His passions in life included sailing, tennis, traveling, and volunteering weekly at the Touro Information desk and the National World War II Museum. He was also a member of the Second Bayou group of Jewish investors.<\/p>\n<p>He found love again with Sybil Kline, to whom he remained devoted to for 14 years.<\/p>\n<p>Hudson is survived by his daughters, Lynne Singerman; Nancy Kaplan (Neal); Allison Mollner (Greg); his eight grandchildren and his 11 great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>He is also survived by his devoted sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Gene Glick. Donations are suggested to the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans at <a class=\"Box-sc-ucqo0b-0 Link-sc-1u14kdb-0 ixRoUM jLFkis\" href=\"http:\/\/jewishnola.com\/\">jewishnola.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 11:00 am. Temple Sinai Emeritus Rabbi Edward Cohn officiated. Interment followed at Hebrew Rest Cemetery No. 3.
