The latter appeared to be a pointed reference to the recent antisemitism scandal.<\/p>\n<p>Irving was suspended for eight games in November&nbsp;after he tweeted an Amazon link to \u201cHebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America,\u201d a documentary that promotes the false&nbsp;idea that Jews were heavily involved in the Atlantic slave trade, denies the Holocaust and says Black people are the real Jews.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Pistons&#39; scoreboard put up graphics during last night&#39;s game against the Nets, aimed at Kyrie Irving.<\/p>\n<p>It featured a spinning globe, followed by a Happy Hanukkah sign when Irving was shooting his free throws.<\/p>\n<p>(\ud83d\udcf8: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RWoloshin?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@RWoloshin<\/a>, via <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VinceGoodwill?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@VinceGoodwill<\/a>) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NAeb6xfqZM\">pic.twitter.com\/NAeb6xfqZM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; ClutchPoints (@ClutchPoints) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ClutchPoints\/status\/1604878364606889984?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 19, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Irving initially refused to apologize, saying \u201cI cannot be antisemitic if I know where I come from.\u201d In addition to his suspension, Irving lost his deal with sportswear giant Nike.<\/p>\n<p>Irving ultimately apologized, multiple times. As he returned to the Nets on Nov. 20, he said, \u201cI don\u2019t stand for anything close to hate speech or antisemitism.\u201d That same day, a group of Black Hebrew Israelites rallied outside Barclays Center, echoing themes presented in the film.<\/p>\n<p>Irving and the Nets got the last laugh Sunday, defeating the Pistons 124-121. Brooklyn has won nine of its past 10 games.<\/p>\n<p>Also this season, the Pistons have helped celebrate the ascension of Orthodox Jewish prospect Ryan Turell, who plays for the organization\u2019s minor league affiliate, the Motor City Cruise. The team has offered kosher hot dogs at the Cruise arena, hosted a Jewish Heritage Night and more.
