{"id":8262,"date":"2013-07-20T17:08:40","date_gmt":"2013-07-20T23:08:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/?p=8262"},"modified":"2013-07-28T07:45:23","modified_gmt":"2013-07-28T13:45:23","slug":"kerry-announces-resumption-of-mideast-peace-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/blog\/kerry-announces-resumption-of-mideast-peace-talks\/","title":{"rendered":"Kerry announces resumption of Mideast peace talks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON (JTA) \u2014 Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations will resume, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry announced.<br \/>\n\u201cThe representatives of two proud people today have decided that the difficult road ahead is worth traveling,\u201d Kerry said in the Jordanian capital of Amman on Friday, where he was on his sixth visit to the region since assuming his job in February.<br \/>\nTop negotiators from both sides \u2014 Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni and Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat \u2014 will meet next week in Washington to advance the talks, Bloomberg News reported.<br \/>\nIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will have \u201ctough choices\u201d to make as talks proceed, Kerry said.<br \/>\nThe terms of the resumption of talks were not made clear.
