He was 93.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_82630\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Ralph_Seelig.jpeg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-82630\" class=\"wp-image-82630 size-thumbnail lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Ralph_Seelig-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 150px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 150\/150;\"><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-82630\" class=\"wp-image-82630 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.crescentcityjewishnews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Ralph_Seelig-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\"><\/noscript><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-82630\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">RALPH SEELIG<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>A native of New Orleans, on April 26, 1931, he was a graduate of Isidore Newman School and then graduated from Tulane University with a B.B.A. degree.<\/p>\n<p>Following his ROTC training, he&nbsp; entered the army as a 2nd Lieutenant and was stationed in Newport News, VA. After completing his military service, he returned to New Orleans to open a furniture store. That business eventually evolved into his&nbsp; distributorship which he transformed into a family business.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Seelig served on several industry boards during his career and enjoyed spending time traveling or with his grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>He was married for 69 years to the late Shirley Tanenbaum Seelig, who died in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his three children Linda S. Greenbaum (Mark), Sam and Stanley Seelig, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services were held today, Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Shir Chadash Synagogue, 3737 West Esplanade Avenue with visitation beginning at 11:30 AM. Rabbi David Cohen-Henriquez officiated.
