Israeli Prime Minister&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jns.org\/netanyahu-mohammed-sinwar-is-dead\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a>&nbsp;confirmed his death on May 28.<\/p>\n<p>According to Israel\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Channel 12<\/em>&nbsp;broadcaster, Sinwar\u2019s body was pulled from the tunnel by soldiers of the Golani Commando Battalion (formerly known as the Golani Reconnaissance Battalion) over the weekend and transferred to Israel for confirmation of identity.<\/p>\n<p>The remains of Hamas Rafah Brigade commander Mohammed Shabanah, who died alongside Sinwar, as well as weapons and intelligence documents, were also seized from the compound, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday night\u2019s IDF statement said that \u201cduring the operation, additional terrorist bodies were found; their identities are currently being verified.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The IDF had previously confirmed on Saturday that its soldiers had operated in underground infrastructure near the European Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring the activity, IDF troops reached an underground route that was struck three weeks ago, where Muhammad Sinwar and other terrorists were located,\u201d the army stated at the time, adding, \u201cBodies of terrorists who have not yet been identified were located in the area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jns.org\/yahya-sinwars-brother-said-to-be-rebuilding-hamass-terror-army\/\">Sinwar<\/a>&nbsp;was a senior Hamas commander and a brother of&nbsp;Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip, who Israeli ground forces killed on Oct. 16.
