In the event of a mandatory evacuation, Weil said, Federation offices in Metairie will be closed and communications will be available through cell phones, e-mail and, possibly, regular mail. Camp Henry S. Jacobs in Utica, Mississippi will be available as a shelter of last resort for members of the Jewish community after regular sessions end on August 7.
