Levitt, himself the son of proud parents who once founded the Jewish Progressive Alliance and fought for social justice causes, should be ashamed of himself for the negative portrayal of Italians and Jews in his movie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In \u201cDon Jon,\u201d Gordon-Levitt plays Jon Martello, a \u201cJersey Shore\u201d-esque porn addict who falls for a Jewish (and also very Jersey-fied) chick named Barbara Sugarman, played by\u00a0<strong>Scarlett Johansson<\/strong>, who really is Jewish.<\/p>\n<p>As no specific scenes were cited and we haven\u2019t seen the film ourselves, at this time we at 6NoBacon will abstain from weighing in. But we\u2019re guessing it probably can\u2019t be much worse stereotype-wise than the upcoming Jewish rom-com\u00a0\u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jta.org\/2013\/09\/15\/arts-entertainment\/watch-handsome-gentile-pretends-to-be-jewish-to-get-a-girl-in-trailer-for-jewtopia\" target=\"_blank\">Jewtopia<\/a>,\u201d\u00a0right?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ivanka Trump walking to synagogue (we\u2019re pretty sure)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A photo taken last week of \u201cApprentice\u201d judge<strong>\u00a0Ivanka Trump<\/strong>\u00a0wearing a \u201cskirted power suit\u201d and a hat was deconstructed by\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-2433889\/Pregnant-Ivanka-Trump-sticks-stylish-non-maternity-wear-create-slimming-effect.html#ixzz2gIUajl5D\" target=\"_blank\">Daily Mail<\/a>, in a piece about her\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424127887324665604579081472233457510.html\" target=\"_blank\">maternity style<\/a>.\u00a0Guesses were made as to where Trump, who is eight months pregnant, was headed as she walked the streets of Manhattan with hubbie\u00a0<strong>Jared Kushner\u00a0<\/strong>and their 2-year-old daughter,\u00a0<strong>Arabella Rose<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe trio looked off for an important lunch or perhaps a meeting with her father, Donald Trump, who is known for dressing up daily in grey suits and pink ties,\u201d the story said.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps, but we have another theory: The glam fam was shul-bound!<\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t have confirmation, but the evidence is strong. It was Shemini Atzeret, so it seems highly likely the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.elledecor.com\/celebrity-style\/ivanka-trump-apartment-kelly-behun-interiors#slide-1\" target=\"_blank\">Upper East Side dwellers<\/a>\u00a0were going to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/new-york\/raging-four-alarm-fire-destroys-historic-upper-east-side-synagogue-article-1.159027\" target=\"_blank\">Kehilath Jeshurun<\/a>\u00a0on East 85th Street, where Trump converted prior to the couple\u2019s wedding. Plus, it isn\u2019t the first time the Trump-Kushners \u00a0have been\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.celebritybabyscoop.com\/2011\/10\/14\/ivanka-trump-family-celebrate-sukkot\" target=\"_blank\">photographed on their way to synagogue<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If we\u2019re correct, surely Trump\u2019s hat, which the Daily Mail called a &#8221; &#8217;60s era fashion statement that looks like something Holly Golightly would have worn,\u201d\u00a0is not merely a fashion statement but a hair-covering device, too. Funny &#8212; we pegged her as a doily wearer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drake\u2019s new gig: Reinventing the Raptors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The NBA&#8217;s Toronto Raptors are gearing up for a makeover from none other than\u00a0<strong>Drake<\/strong>, the city\u2019s very own Jewish rap sensation.<\/p>\n<p>We know, you\u2019re probably wondering if you can infuse cool into a losing team with a tougher, redder Barney for a mascot. But according to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com\/sports\/raptors\/2013\/09\/29\/raptors_drake_team_up_for_rebranding_kelly.html\" target=\"_blank\">Toronto Star<\/a>, the execs behind it all are modeling the rebranding on another very successful rapper-basketball joint venture: Jay-Z and the Brooklyn Nets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHip hop\u2019s cool uncle took an (incredibly tiny) ownership position in exchange for polishing the shield,\u201d the Toronto Star says of Jay-Z. \u201cHe didn\u2019t have to do much. Switch from Yankees to Nets ball-caps. Show up to a few games. Whisper in the ears of a few guys who grew up on The Blueprint. The result is an almost instant contender, the sort of marquee brand future hall of famers want to be associated with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now it\u2019s Drake\u2019s turn. The self-described\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/sports.espn.go.com\/espn\/thelife\/music\/news\/story?id=5469928\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cRaptors fan to the death\u201d<\/a>will launch a team-based clothing line and consult on the redesign of the Raptors image for the 20th anniversary of the franchise in the 2014-2015 season.<\/p>\n<p>The hope is that Toronto, which will host the 2016 NBA All-Star game, will soon become a go-to city for the league&#8217;s players. And that Drake does something with that dinosaur.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sebastian Thoen&#8217;s slur on French TV<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jews in France are riled up over an inflammatory comment made by Sebastian Thoen, a humorist on French TV, earlier this month,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2013\/09\/29\/french-comedian-one-can-be-jewish-and-not-be-completely-disgusting-video\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Algemeiner<\/a>\u00a0reports.<\/p>\n<p>On the prime-time &#8220;Le Grand Journal&#8221; show, Thoen was introducing the popular Jewish comedian\u00a0<strong>Elie Semoun<\/strong>, who was promoting his new book.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou never embarked into communitarianism [&#8230;] You could have also appeared in the streets selling jeans and diamonds from the back of a car saying \u2018Israel is always right, f*** Palestine woualala &#8230; but you did not \u2026 One can be Jewish and not be completely disgusting.\u00a0No offense to some!\u201d Thoen said, according to a translation provided to the Algemeiner.<\/p>\n<p>Was something lost in translation, or was the \u201cjoke\u201d really as horrifying as it sounds?<\/p>\n<p>French speakers can\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=V2ybgkJdd7k&amp;feature=player_embedded\" target=\"_blank\">watch<\/a>\u00a0and see for themselves.
