CCJN will broadcast live poll results from Israeli elections

CCJN editor Alan Smason announced earlier today that the New Orleans Jewish community website will be one of a very few outlets to broadcast a panel of experts from the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusaelem the night of the Israeli elections on Setpemeber 17, 2019.

“We are pleased to offer this exclusive feed via the Internet for the benefit of our community,” he said.

Hartman Institute spokesperson Alan Abbey added that “this second unprecedented election in one year comes amid external threats from Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas.”

“The election shows sharp internal divisions among secular and religious Israelis and “deep divisions over the lengthy tenure of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” Abbey added.

Top Hartman Institute scholars, including best-selling author Yossi Klein Halevi, will be on hand to give real-time results and in-depth commentary of the election in English.

“You’ll find little other live coverage of the elections in English, and none with the insight, nuance, and perspective of the Hartman Institute,” Abby concluded.

The live program will begin at 1:30 pm Central Daylight Time, approximately 30 minutes before the polls close, and will continue for at least one hour afterward.
