Chabad House has power restored; Rohr Chabad still powerless

Power has been restored to the Uptown Chabad House, 1216 Broadway. Morning minyans will continue there as usual at 7:00 a.m. Evening minyans will continue to be held at the Chabad Center in Metairie at 7:00 p.m. daily.

Rebbetzin Bluma Rivkin of Chabad Lubavitch of Louisiana reports that the turnout for Shabbat services at her home on Saturday was a sizable crowd of 40. The Rohr Chabad Student Center at Tulane hosted a “mini-dinner” on Friday night on Tulane’s campus and had a crowd of 60 students turn out, according to Rivkin. Her son, Rabbi Yochanan Rivkin and daughter-in-law Sarah, run the student center, which has been without power since the passage of Hurricane Issac.
