The annual memorial program remembers and honors local survivors while educating the public about the Holocaust and teaching the importance of tolerance. It is free and open to the community.

During the program, students from the Donald R. Mintz Youth Leadership Mission of the Anti Defamation League will be recognized and the 13th Annual Educator of the Year award will be presented to Melanie Boulet, a world history teacher at New Orleans Charter Science and Math High School, for the outstanding work she has done integrating Holocaust education into the curriculum.
