Congregation Anshe Sfard cancels Shabbat services

In an email sent out to his congregation, Rabbi David Polsky of Congregation Anshe Sfard reluctantly cancelled the morning worship services slated for Saturday morning, September 1. Polsky, who personally toured the facility yesterday, did not believe there was any major structural damage to the synagogue, but is still waiting on inspectors to properly look whether water damages did occur. Polsky, his wife Mindy Rothstein and newborn daughter Toby were looking forward to a Simchat Bat to honor the baby. However, due to the lack of air conditioning and lights, Polsky was forced to postpone that joyous event.
