Deadline for JCRS college assistance is May 31

The Jewish Children’s Regional Service (JCRS) reminds eligible, deserving Jewish youth from across the seven-state region it serves that applications for undergraduate college assistance have a deadline to be filed by May 31, 2019.

JCRS gives assistance to over 100 undergraduate college students each year on a “needs-based” determination. Applications for financial assistance for the upcoming 2019-2020 academic year which are received by the deadline will receive priority funding. Those received after the deadline will be considered only  if funds are still available.

The Jewish Children’s Regional Service has been providing social services, care and funding to the Jewish youth from the states of Alabama . Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas since 1855.   It is the oldest Jewish children’s agency in the United States.

There are numerous lay leaders and professionals throughout the United States who were given financial assistance as youth by JCRS.

While late applications to the JCRS education or camp scholarship programs are not eligible for maximum awards, applications for the special needs program are accepted throughout the year.
