Dean Allison, local realtor, car salesman

DEAN PHILIP ALLISON,  a native New Orleanian  who founded and managed his own real estate firm before becoming a successful automobile salesman, succumbed after a long battle with cancer on April 24. Allison was 62.

He worked for his family’s firm, Allison Real Estate,  as a young man, but became a sales associate of Benson Mercedez-Benz over a decade ago. His professional attitude and gregarious nature made him an accomplished salesman in short order.

Allison is survived by his wife Phyllis (née Cohen) of 35 years, a son Eric, a daughter Dayna Tribe, sisters Pat Liss and Nat Marks and two grandchildren. Services were officiated by Rabbi Robert Loewy of Gates of Prayer Synagogue with interment in Hebrew Rest Cemetery No. 3 on April 25. Contributions to the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans (CAGNO), 824 Elmwood Park Boulevard, Suite 240, New Orleans, LA 70122 or Congregation Gates of Prayer are preferred.
