Dr. Mark Sands to speak via Zoom on ‘Crazy’ talk March 4

Child psychiatrist Dr. Mark Sands will be the key speaker at an event co-sponsored by the Shir Chadash Conservative Congregation and the Greater New Orleans Chapter of Hadassah.

Titled “How To Deal with Crazy: Yours, Mine and Ours!” the talk will be held on Thursday, March 4 at 7 p.m via a Zoom link, which can be accessed on the calendar at the Shir Chadash website.

Dr. Sands has been practicing child psychiatry for 36 years and has worked with patients as young as six month. He has taught multiple psychiatry fellows and is a faculty member of the LST School of Medicine and has also taught at LCMC (Children’s Hospital).

Recently, he retired from Mercy Family Center as their director of Psychiatry for the past 25 years. Currently he is chair of the Jewish Community Regional Services’ Special Needs Committee and is a psychiatric consultant for Jewish Family Service. He is a member of the medical staff at Baptist Community Health Services and maintains a private practice.
