Dr. Stanley Bleich dies, will be buried in Boston

STANLEY DAVID BLEICH, M.D., a renowned cardiologist and chair of the board of cardiology at East Jefferson General Hospital, died on October 21, 2014, while visiting family in the Boston, MA area. At the time of his passing,he was surrounded by his immediate family.

Dr. Bleich, who originally hailed from Boston, had a successful practice for more than two decades in Metairie.

Bleich’s research as a primary investigator in the study of TPA was considered especially noteworthy. TPA is a protein involved in the breakdown of blood clots.

He is survived by his wife, Caron; a daughter, Dr. Lauren Feldman (David); two sons Dr. Steven Bleich (Miriam) and Jeremy Bleich and two granddaughters. Dr. Bleich is also survived by his mother, Yolanda Bleich, and his sister Florence Shapiro (Howard).

Funeral services will take place tomorrow, Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Levine’s Chapel in Brookline, MA. Burial will follow immediately at Beit Olam East Cemetery in Wayland, MA.
