Federation requiring vaccination proof or negative-COVID test as of Aug. 25
The Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans has announced a new policy regarding access to the Goldring-Woldenberg Campus building, which houses its offices as well as those of the Metairie JCC and the Jewish Community Day School.
Because of rising numbers of residents affected by the spread of the Delta variant, the City of New Orleans enacted rules requiring proof of vaccinations or a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test to enter restaurants, bars and all indoor meeting spaces. This included the Uptown JCC.
In order to protect its staff and those entering the building, the Federation will require proof of vaccination or a “negative PCR test within 72 hours for all individuals 12 year of age and older to enter the Metairie building.”
Federation has termed this a temporary, but necessary action and hopes to “revisit” the policy when numbers of infections dictate it is safe to rescind it.
