Financial planner Allen Weiner rites on Thurs.

ALLEN A. WEINER, a financial planner and analyst who founded his own accounting and financial planning firm, died at his Metairie home on Tuesday, November 19, 2019. He was 76.


A native of New York, Weiner grew up in Oklahoma and moved to New Orleans for his senior year of high school. He attended Oklahoma University for an undergraduate degree and received a master’s degree from the University of Missouri.

Weiner returned to New Orleans to work in the New Orleans to founded his own self-named Metairie firm specializing in individual and business tax preparations, financial planning, retirement planning and tax reduction strategies. He operated the firm until his retirement earlier this year.

A devoted Saints fan, Weiner held season tickets since the 1970s and also loved horse-racing. He was also a lover of animals, especially devoted to his pet dogs. Before his death, he realized his dreams of witnessing the Saints win the Superbowl and visiting Israel.

He is survived by his wife Jan, his daughters Cori Weiner, Elizabeth Mabry (Ty) and Sarah Ridel (Robert) and his sisters Sandye Weiner and Roberta Collins (Ron).

Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Rabbi Mendel Ceitlin will officiated and interment followed at Ahavas Sholem Cemetery.
