Today, Tuesday, December 3, 2019, has been designated as GivingTuesday. The #GivingTuesday concept was created in 2012 as a way to engage mankind to do good with one another. Although many non-profit organizations encourage their members and supporters to donate funds to their campaigns, it is much more than simple acts of donating funds
Over the past seven years, this global movement has inspired hundreds of millions of people to “to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity,” according to its website.
“Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give.”
In fact, many charitable institutions are offering matching funds through their benefactors to encourage more charitable giving, but many others are simply asking for random and selfless acts of kindness to be generated throughout the day.
