Hadassah, Chabad to hold Women’s Mega Challah Bake on Nov. 13

Both the Greater New Orleans Chapter of Hadassah and the Chabad Lubavitch of Louisiana are holding a Women’s Mega Challah Bake 250 on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Congregation Gates of Prayer, 4000 W. Esplanade Ave. in Metairie.

The event follows on the heels of the success of the Women’s Mega Challah Bake 200 in 2017 and has expanded to another 50 spaces this year..

Women are invited to take part from across the entire community to make and bake challahs together.  Co-sponsors of the event are Congregation Anshe Sfard, Congregation Beth Israel, Congregation Gates of Prayer, the Northshore Jewish congregation and Temple Sinai. Also, community organizations such as Chabad of Southern Mississippi, Cteen, the Greater New Orleans Section of the National Council of Jewish Women, the Jewish Community Day School, JNOLA, and Torah Academy will also participate..

A lighjt dinner and a wine bar will be donated by Royal Wines.

Participants will be encouraged to make the dough for two challah loves to be baked at home and receive a personalized apron for the event.

While the event is intended for adults 18 years and above, there will be a table for this year for the first time for teens aged 14 to 17.

Registration is $36 now and will be online from November 7, when tickets will increase to $50.
