The Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans issued a statement in advance of the arrival of the rain and winds associated with Tropical Storm Barry.
According to the statement, the Goldring-Woldenberg Jewish Community Campus, which includes the Jewish Federation, the Jewish Community Day School, and the JCC in Metairie will remain closed until at least Sunday, July 14. The complex and the Uptown JCC on St. Charles Avenue, were closed on Wednesday following a freak thunderstorm that dumped nearly eight inches of rain on the city and created widespread flooding.
Federation urged its members to continue to prepare for the storm as the weather front passes through the area. Updates from the City of New Orleans are available by clicking here for NOLA Ready site here: https://ready.nola.gov/home/.
