Retired retailer Joseph Sutton laid to rest
JOSEPH SUTTON, a retired retailer, passed away at his New Orleans residence on Sunday, October 24. He was 92.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y, Sutton was raised in New Orleans and received his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University. As a retailer, he owned numerous stores in the area.
Among his great endeavors, he especially enjoyed his time spent on golf courses and on tennis courts.
He was predeceased by his wife, the late Temple Fleming, to whom he was married for 57 years. He is survived by his children Cindy Zekaria (Stephen), Stacy D’ Angelo and Kendra Hodapp (Heath), his brothers Ronald and Richard “Dickie” Sutton, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at the Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home Chapel, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Rabbi Mendel Ceitlin officiated with interment following in Metairie Cemetery.
