Temple Sinai executive director Liz Yager tenders resignation; search for replacement begins

Temple Sinai executive director Liz Yager, who took over the administrative position in August of 2018, tendered a letter of resignation effective June 30, 2020.
Yager, along with Rabbi Daniel Sherman and Cantor Joel Colman, made up a triumvirate of responsiblity wherein she ran the office and took care of the daily operation of the largest synagogue in the state of Louisiana, while the rabbi and cantor were largely in charge of the spiritual leadership and religious education of the members.
Emeritus Rabbi, Ed Paul Cohn also contributes to the spiritual leadership of Temple Sinai, but is largely exempt from the day-to-day responsibilities.
“I feel honored to have heard many of your Sinai stories,” she wrote to her fellow congregants in an email on Friday afternoon prior to Shabbat.
She thanked the congregation for sharing those stories. and expressed pride for what she had accomplished. “I have worked hard to best serve the needs of the entire congregation, learned a tremendous amount and gained many new friends,” she continued.
Yager indicated she is ready for new challenges ahead.
“I will start this next new chapter in my life so much fuller having worked with and represented Temple Sinai within the Jewish and secular communities,” she added. “I wish Temple Sinai and its members continued health, passion, and engaging spirit.”
