ISRAEL (TPS) — The two people killed – a man and a woman – in Sunday morning’s terrorist attack at the Barkan Industrial Park have been identified. The woman is listed as 28-year-old Kim Levengrond-Yehezkel. She was from Rosh Ha’ayin, the sister city of New Orleans in Israel. She leaves behind a husband and a small son.
The man was named as Ziv Chagbi. He was a 35-year-old husband and father of three children, who resided in Rishon LeZion.
A third, unidentified woman is reported in stable condition after having been rushed to a nearby hospital.
Authorities reported that both of the victims had been bound with plastic cable ties before being shot at point-blank range by a single terrorist, who was only identified as a 23-year-old Palestinian from the village of Shweika near the West Bank city of Tulkarem.
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu opened Sunday morning’s government meeting by addressing the terror attack.
“This is a very serious terror attack, in which two Israelis were brutally murdered and a third is injured,” the prime minister said. “Security forces are in pursuit of the vile murderer. I am sure they will catch him, and I am sure we will bring him to justice. I would like to send condolences to the families of the two victims, as well as our prayers for a speedy recovery to the wounded victim.”
