Homemaker Dorothy Caplan memorial set for Friday

DOROTHY RYCKMAN CAPLAN, a homemaker and wife, died on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Lambeth House, where she was a resident. She was 100.

Predeceased by her husband of 75 years, Alvin Solomon Caplan, she is survived by her children Dale Caplan Strickland (Mike) and Dr. W. Ryckman, her sister Mary Louise Ryckman Phillips, two grandchildren, one step-grandson and four great-grandchildren.

Private graveside services officiated by Rabbi Alexis Berk were held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in Metairie Cemetery.

A memorial reception for family and friends was held at Lambeth House, 150 Broadway, on Friday, October 17 between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Lambeth House Employee’s Fund or the charity of your choice. Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp of Metairie was in charge of arrangements.
