Modi will be appearing for the first time in New Orleans on May 18 at  the Orpheum Theater, 129 Roosevelt Way.

He identifies as both Israeli and American, having grown up in a Jewish household where only Hebrew was spoken. Following a conventional childhood and graduation from college, he went to work for Merrill Lynch as a broker on Wall Street. He worked there for six years from 1993 -1999 until he made his stage debut and decided to concentrate on a career in show business instead.

Since embarking on his stand-up career, he has made a name for himself in the Orthodox Jewish world, where he regularly performs.

The New Orleans event is a fundraiser for Bikur Cholim, a charitable organization that provides comfort for Jewish patients and their families during illness or treatment.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster for $43 each here. A select group of 12 tickets on the front row is available for $1025 each, which includes a meet and greet with Modi after the show.
