The Jewish Regional Children’s Service (JCRS), the oldest Jewish charity in the region, is in the running to receive a minimum of $5,000 from Gulf South Bank as part of their Community Rewards program. JCRS is the only Jewish charity signed up as part of the program, but it is one of 350 different charities based throughout Southeast Louisiana, some located as far away as Baton Rouge and St. Tammany Parish.

Participants are encouraged to click on the link here and to register with Gulf South Bank in order to receive an access code. Once the access code is received by email, voting for JCRS is available once per day between now and March 4. Several charities have received a significant number of votes already and only the top ten will receive grants of $5,000 each.
JCRS executive director Ned Goldberg is encouraging all members of the Jewish community and New Orleanians to help support his organization’s cause. “This is a wonderful, quick and easy opportunity to help JCRS raise funds,” he said. ” So often , helping any organization raise funds involves a great deal of time or energy on the part of a volunteer , or involves asking friends or acquaintances to donate. In this case the funds are committed, but it is up to the volunteers of each organization to work to get those funds directed to the organizations that mean the most to them.”
Goldberg encourages all participants to vote daily for JCRS now through the end of the contest period on March 4.
