Komedy Kickoff event for B’nai Israel rescheduled in B.R.

The Komedy Kickoff fundraiser event for Baton Rouge’s Congregation B’nai Israel will now be held October 10 at the Baton Rouge Little Theater. The event originally scheduled for August 29 had to be rescheduled due to Hurricane Issac’s landfall on that same date.

Comic John Dardenne returns to Baton Rouge on October 10.

This will be the second Komedy Kickoff fundraiser for the Reform temple and will feature John Dardenne, the son of Louisiana Lt. Governor Jay and Cathy Dardenne. The younger Dardenne has been working as a stand-up comic since 18 and later journeyed to Hollywood as a film student at the University of Southern California. While there he honed his sketch and improvisational comedy skills as a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. A resident of Los Angeles now, he recently has appeared in commercials for Nintendo and Comcast and also written material for the Wanda Sykes Show on the Fox Network.

Also on the bill will be comedian Max Goldberg. Like Dardenne, Goldberg, 26, honed his comedic and stand-up skills while a student at Emerson College in Boston. Goldberg, a native of Los Angeles, is now based there  and appears at venues across the United States at various colleges, in comedy clubs or at festivals. Last year Goldberg completed a successful nine-city comedy tour.

A pre-show wine and hors d’oeuvres event with the talent for VIP patrons will be held at 6:30 p.m.  The Komedy Kickoff will open with a silent auction at 7:00 pm. The show kicks off at 8:00 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online here or by calling the box office at 225-924-6496. General admission tickets are $35.00 each, while VIP tickets are priced at $75.00.
