List of charities to donate for Hurricane Sandy victims
Locally, Chabad Lubavitch of Louisiana, Congregation Beth Israel are collecting for Hurricane Sandy relief online. They are advancing funds they collect to specific organizations and religious institutions with whom they have personally been in touch. Chabad, for example, is said to have lost 30 Chabad Houses due to the destruction in NY and NJ.
Meanwhile, Temple Sinai its running its relief efforts through the Union for Reform Judaism site. there are several different national organizations collecting for Hurricane Sandy relief. They are:

Send checks to The Jewish Federations of North America, Wall Street Station, PO Box 148, New York, NY 10268 and mark “JFNA Hurricane Relief” on the check.
