Marilyn Green laid to rest

MARILYN KAPPER GREEN, a homemaker and mother died on Friday, July 11, 2025. She was 85.

MARILYN GREEN

A native of Boston and a longtime resident of New Orleans and Metairie, she was extremely outgoing and fiercely independent.

She enjoyed art, fashion, traveling, classical music, reading, and was an avid painter.

She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Lester L. Green. She is survived by her daughter Robyn Sue Green (Carey Lynn Hattic), her two sons, Henry Evan Green and Matthew Alan Green, and two grandchildren.

A visitation was held on Monday, July 14, 2025,  at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service officiated by Rabbi Daniel Sherman of Temple Sinai followed at 11:30 a.m. in Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.

The family requests donations in Marilyn’s name to Jewish Family Service of Greater New Orleans who helped support the family through the final chapter of her life.
