Netanyahu easily wins reelection in Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rode to victory early Wednesday morning as results from the Tuesday election indicated his Likud Party has taken a commanding lead over Zionist Union Party.

With nearly 95 percent of precincts reporting, the Likud reportedly captured 29 Knesset seats, while Zionist Union trailed with 24 seats, according to several reports.

The runaway victory flies in the face of exit polls that suggested the race would be much closer. Some polls suggested it would be a virtual dead heat..
