Seth Rudetsky returns Saturday night with pal Mullally

Seth Rudetsky, who has served as interviewer and pianist twice before in the “Broadway at NOCCA” series with Broadway legends Patti LuPone and Sutton Foster, returns this Saturday night to welcome his old friend Megan Mullally to the Lupin Auditorium at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts.

Mullally, who won two Emmy Awards for her role as Karen Walker on “Will and Grace,” first met Rudetsky when he was playing in the orchestra for the 1994 revival of “Grease.” Mullally played the role of Marty, one of the Pink Ladies, prior to her taking on the leading role of Rosemary in the 1995 revival of “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying” opposite Matthew Broderick.

Rudetsky, who has played in a number of other Broadway shows including “Ragtime,” recently presented a spate of four Broadway plays he and his husband, James Wesley, have produced titled the “Midtown March of Plays.” They each wrote two plays and found a starring role for their 12-year-old daughter, Juli Wesley, in one of them. Both Rudetsky and Wesley claimed the reason they went ahead and inserted their daughter into the play was because they felt if they waited, she might outgrow the role.

The Lupin Auditorium is located on the NOCCA campus at 2800 Chartres Street. Tickets for both of the two shows at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.  are still available. General admission tickets begin at $50 for seats in the rear, $75 for middle of the house seats and $100 for VIP seats in the first seven rows. Special VIP tickets for $150 are also available to entitle guests to a “meet and greet” with Rudetsky and Mullally. All tickets can be purchased online here.
